In Sukhumi, just near the central quay there is a hotel “Ritsa”. The building with a legendary history symbolizes the ancient, even prehistoric Sukhum. At various times, the hotel served as a muse for artists, composers and writers. Many famous people have stayed here. The hotel changed hands and the name several times, but it has always been associated with a wonderful seaside holiday.
The “Ritsa” is surrounded by a halo of romance, the hotel's appearance, its unique architecture make it one of the most beautiful buildings in Abkhazia. The spirit of the early 20th century still lives in luxurious apartments, the past greatness can be judged by the preserved architectural details. The snow-white building basks in the sun rays. The building is located so that soft rays enter the room in the morning, and combined with the coolness brought from the sea, they give the most wonderful feeling of the Black Sea holiday.
The “Ritsa” hotel has been the main postcard view of Sukhumi since 1914. During the Soviet years, the building was constantly used, serious restoration and capital repairs were not carried out. Only recently, the “Ritsa” began to shine with fresh colors. Now the snow-white ensemble with elegant carvings emblazons on the background of the city fountains, which also have their own interesting history.
All the city infrastructure is located in walking distance from the hotel. It includes restaurants and cafes, playgrounds and entertainment centers, navigation equipment rent and transport. The main attractions of the historic part of Sukhum, theaters, the museum, the botanical garden are located not far from the hotel. Only 50 meters separate the hotel from the promenade and the equipped, sand and pebble coast. Beach and parking are included in the price.
To accommodate its guests the hotel provides well-equipped rooms with stout interior. In 22 rooms of the “Ritsa” designed for 42 persons, most of the windows face the seaside and have private balconies. You can choose the presidential suite, 11 double rooms, 7 suites and 2 single rooms. The hotel has no rooms with separate beds for one person, in living rooms of the suites there is an extra comfortable sofa for a child. If necessary, an inflatable bed can be provided.
The standard rooms facilities include: the necessary furniture, air conditioning, a modern shower cabin, a toilet with a bidet, hot and cold running water without fail. The suites include upholstered furniture, a TV, a refrigerator, a mini-bar and a telephone. All the suites have balconies facing the sea. The rooms have comfortable and beautiful interior, floor lamps, beautiful upholstery contribute to the cozy and comfortable atmosphere.
The presidential suite includes two bedrooms and a living room. Here we also added a desk and a dinning table as well as all the modern means of communication. The double suites include a bedroom, a living room and a hallway and they are equipped with two bathrooms. All the rooms are equipped with bath sets (a hair dryer, a bathrobe, towels). Cleaning is provided every day.
Two restaurants in the hotel provide delicious local and European cuisine. The “San Remo” is an institution for people preferring traditional menus. The “Akyafurta” will give new gastronomic experience of Abkhazia's delicious dishes. The guests will appreciate the tearoom “Medovik”. Here breakfast is served to the hotel guests. It is included in the room rate.
